Amnesty International
International Secretariat, Easton Street, London WC1
Designed by Artillery Architecture and Interior Design, this multi-phased, total refurbishment and fit-out project was originally let as a single-stage, traditional contract on Bills of Quantities. PierceHill was instrumental in successfully delivering the project after the original contractor went into receivership approximately half way through the programme. A ‘self build’ approach to completing the project was adopted and we procured and negotiated completion packages on behalf of the client who remained in occupation throughout. We also maintained a full-time site presence to control finances.
Contract value: £8m |

East London Mosque Trust
London Muslim Centre, Whitechapel Road, London E1
PierceHill provided project and cost management services for this ‘design and build’ project which was unique in that the East London Mosque Trust commenced construction with a significant shortfall of funds. As a result, most contractors were unwilling to get involved. The eventual contractor was Bamfords Trust plc, a Muslim family-run property development company, who self-build many of their projects. Designed by the contractor’s architect Markland Klaschka, the multipurpose facility was completed on time and within budget. The building was officially opened by HRH The Prince of Wales.
Contract value: £9m
